Wow...go and read now:

"Pillars of Salt" by [livejournal.com profile] blaskjar   (Supernatural)
Summary:  6.3 coda. Balthazar is very agile, but sloppy. Castiel tries to follow without getting lost.  2725 words.  Gen.

A perfect and intriguing Cas voice, and... *flails*.  I'm failing at finding words to describe how much I love this.

Why are you still here?

Today my mother called me a "skinny little white girl" then told me to take a calcium supplement and get outside in the sunshine.

Moms FTW! \o/

That is all.

Three weeks for Dreamwidth insta-rec in honor of tonight's new Supernatural episode:

"Unstoppable" by JessicaRae

Summary: What is truly unstoppable? Destiny? ...or the Winchester brothers? A series recap, all wrapped up in less than three and a half minutes. Spoilers up to 5x20.

An utterly amazing fanvid that I could totally see actually running on TV to promote Supernatural (you know, if the CW actually did things like that...)

My day has been totally made by receiving two unexpected and heartfelt compliments by people who yesterday I would've said did not notice or think of me at all.

people being unexpectedly awesome )

In the spirit of this post re: women & valuing our accomplishments by [personal profile] synecdochic, I did my level best to not explain the compliments away and to own up to my awesomeness with grace.

I have fallen off the face of the earth lately, so I'm coming late to this party (as usual), but here's some visual joy for Three Weeks for Dreamwidth!

Now that I have re-emerged from RL, expect future contributions in the same vein, I'm going through a photography phase right now.  :-)

...and what did I do?  Talked myself into getting a Wii.  :-D

I've been toying with the idea off and on, and I finally bit the bullet and went through with it.  It was an awesome deal too, so there is very little guilt over how I just spent the money I was planning on using to update my digital camera.  (I now have until July to save more money for it before I go on my Bahamas cruise.  Eee!  Cruise!  Bahamas!  Eee!  Is it summer yet?)

Looking at my apartment setup though, I may have to rearrange my living room so there's actual space in front of the TV.  Hmm...

Also, Netflix just became compatible with Wii for instant movie streaming to your TV, so I can sit in comfort on my couch instead of hunching over my laptop!  Yay again!

**

Also, I made the utterly amazing Black Bean Pinwheels for the potluck we're having at work tomorrow.  My sister brought these to a party we were at a few weeks ago, and they were completely addicting.  Better yet, they are easy and fast to make.

I modified the recipe a bit - adding various spices (cumin, chili powder, garlic powder...etc) and using refried black beans instead of processing them as stated in the recipe.  My food processor is teeny, and I think putting 1 c. of beans into it would just cause it to spin around fruitlessly...plus I am lazy and don't like to have lots of clean up.  We shall see how they go over.  (If poorly, who cares?  It's more for me then!)

Continuing on with the theme of the weekend, I randomly decided today I should reorganize my delicious tags.  (And discovered, hey, this site is actually pretty nifty, I should use it more!)  I did actually manage to do a few (well, very few TBH) before getting distracted with the shiny and surfing around to see what DW has to offer.

Finds of the day:

- White Collar fic!  Whee!  In keeping with my delicious!day, the ones I particularly enjoyed are tagged over there, and I successfully added a link to my delicious account here in my journal's sidebar.

- an utterly awesome Casifesto by [personal profile] aesc .

- which in turn led me over to the amazing vid "A Charming Man" by [personal profile] giandujakiss

Cannot recommend enough!!

me: ZERO internet: 1

My mission today was to organize my computer. So I figured, hey, start out with something easy - your bookmarks are semi-organized already. Then I realized...oops! Ha. Hahaha. I'd have to go through them and find out what they all were. Hours of surfing the net later, no sorting has been accomplished. *sigh*

How do I remedy this? I create a new Dreamwidth account of course! (Thanks to [personal profile] seperis for the invite code.)

In the spirit of what I was supposed to have been doing, I have pared down my username from it's previous bulkier [livejournal.com profile] spark_variance incarnation.  Welcome to the blog of [personal profile] variance !  Never let it be said that I'm not good at distracting myself!  DW is all...shiny. I must explore, and fiddle endlessly with layouts, and try new features, and...what was I doing again?
