Today is a totally new day

Three weeks for Dreamwidth insta-rec in honor of tonight's new Supernatural episode:
"Unstoppable" by JessicaRae
Summary: What is truly unstoppable? Destiny? ...or the Winchester brothers? A series recap, all wrapped up in less than three and a half minutes. Spoilers up to 5x20.
An utterly amazing fanvid that I could totally see actually running on TV to promote Supernatural (you know, if the CW actually did things like that...)

My day has been totally made by receiving two unexpected and heartfelt compliments by people who yesterday I would've said did not notice or think of me at all.
1) A coworker from a different department, who I have never spoken more than a few casual words with or been formally introduced to, stopped me in the hallway to expound for a good few minutes on how impressed she is with my attitude at work and how I always seem smiling and pleasant and happy.
Since this is something I specifically aim for no matter how crappy I'm feeling, it meant a lot. I'm sure the fact that when I'm stressed or irritated I just get really quiet probably helps this impression along too.
2) A friend from college who I've had no contact with for a good 6 years or so (we were never that close to begin with), emailed me to tell me what an amazing friend I am for helping out a mutual friend of ours who is going through a rough time.
Just...wow, because I really think being a good friend is something that I should be better at than I am. I frequently feel like I don't put enough time and thought into holding up my end of my friendships, and I often fall into uncommunicative phases for long periods of time. So yeah, also meant a lot.

synecdochic, I did my level best to not explain the compliments away and to own up to my awesomeness with grace.
